FRANCE WIN FIFA WORLD CUP 2018

July 16, 2018

France are World Cup 2018 winners. FIFA World Cup 2018 concluded on Sunday and it was France who lifted the trophy after 20 years as they defeated Croatia 4-2. France went into the half-time with a 2-1 lead over Croatia. France took the lead in the 18th minute, courtesy an own goal from Mario Mandzukic. Croatia didn’t waste much time and equalised the scoring as Perisic scored for them but France were right back with the lead after they were awarded a penalty.

Griezmann completed the penalty to put his side in front. The misery for Croatia continued in the second half as Paul Pogba scored France’s third and that was followed by a perfect strike from Mbappe. Later, Mandzukic gave Croatian fans something to cheer about as he scored their second goal thanks to a rare blunder from France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The World Cup finals brought an end to arguably the biggest sporting event in the world and so reactions have come in from across the board.

NIKON COOLPIX P1000 SUPERB ZOOM CAMERA

July 11, 2018

With a ridiculous 83x zoom, people have used the super long lens on Nikon’s Coolpix P900 to snap pics of Saturn or pull off the kind of shots you normally only see in spy movies. But apparently that wasn’t good enough, so today, Nikon is announcing the new Coolpix P1000 featuring frankly ridiculous 125x zoom, which is now the longest lens of any superzoom camera on the market.

The P1000 is the successor to the P900, which was already breaking new ground with its 83x zoom lens. The P1000’s lens only opens up to f/8 at the long end versus f/6.5 on the P900, but that tradeoff may be worth it for the extra reach — at that focal length, you’ll want to use a tripod anyway. Both cameras’ lenses start at f/2.8 and are paired with an understandably small 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch sensor.

“The P1000 is the ideal companion camera for birding, sports, wildlife, and celestial-photographers seeking superior performance from extreme distances,” Nikon says.

Inside the camera is a 16-megapixel back-side illuminated CMOS sensor that has an expanded ISO range of up to 6400.

The camera’s lens uses ED and Super ED lens elements and features a variable aperture of f/2.8-f/8 through the zoom range. 250x Dynamic Fine Zoom gives the camera extra digital reach, allowing it to shoot up to 6000mm (in 35mm terms).

“This powerful zoom range gives the P1000 the versatility to chronicle an adventure-filled vacation, capture a favorite ballplayer from the top tier of a stadium or fill the frame with celestial objects like the moon, that normally only a telescope could reach,” Nikon says.

Dual Detect Optical VR in the camera provides 5-stops of camera shake compensation — helpful for when you’re trying to capture a scene or subject at the telephoto end of the camera’s range.
On the back of the camera are a 2.3-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a swiveling 3.2-inch 921K-dot LCD screen.

Other features and specs of the camera include 4K video recording, stereo audio recording, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, quick start-up, RAW photos, a focus mode selector, a control ring (for adjusting things like white balance and manual focus), picture controls, creative modes (e.g. Bird Watching, Moon Mode, and 1cm Macro), filter effects, and time-lapse effect.
