June 5 is celebrated as 'World Environment Day' to raise awareness among the people about protecting the environment. This is done around the theme which invites everyone that they can make changes in their everyday life to reduce the pollution. According to this we should connect to nature.
E-Waste
India is the fifth largest e-waste producing country in the world. E-waste problems in India are increasing day by day. E-waste includes discarded computers, smartphones, chargers, televisions, AC, refrigerators and all other gadgets. The most of the e-waste comes from household appliances. The dumping of e-waste creates several environmental issues as well as health issues. It is harmful for our body organs. Due to this e-waste , our environment is going in danger.
If e-waste is recycled in good manner then we can get so many minerals, metals like silver etc and so many harmful chemicals and then we can disposed these harmful chemicals easily but the seen is that around 90 percent these e-waste are not recycled in a formal method. Due to this so many harmful chemicals like mercury, cadmium etc are released in our environment.
Due to this problem, the government has begun some e-waste management rules which consist of proper disposal, installing roadside e-waste drop boxes etc.
Also the manufacturers should tackle this problem in a good way. They should make some collection points for those items which are useless and take them to their factories for proper recycle. In India there are some collection points available but there should be more awareness related to it.
If we can control this e-waste then we will able to make our future better.
